A kneeling Madonna sculpture was a new sight for me to photograph. Most images I have seen of the Madonna show a standing or sitting pose. That is why I like this pose so very much. It adds to the serenity and peace seen in both the mother’s and child’s faces. The delicate fresh flowers also add a gentle loving touch to the image.

The sculpture is located in a garden alcove near the main entrance to the Mission San Carlos Borroméo del río Carmelo in Carmel, California. I don’t know the name of the artist who created this beauty. I hope to find out soon.
