It pays to look in many directions when on a photographic walk. The best shots aren’t always in front of you, above you or behind you. This one was at the height of my right knee. It came into view while turning around on the trail to look behind me. Wow! What a surprise! A totally white leaf on a rich green leaf. Who made this striking combination? I decided it had to be the wind and moisture of the Redwood forest playing together just for fun.

So, if you wondered if this shot was a mock-up or some fancy PhotoShop work, no it wasn’t. Yes, this is how it really was in the Lady Bird Johnson Redwood Grove, Redwood National Park, California.
